Get Your Kids Creative During These Upcoming Holidays at ClayGround
Learn Wheel & Hand-Building
Fun & Inclusive
Perfect For Ages 8+
Get ready to swap screen time for studio time! ClayGround’s School Holiday ClayCamp is the ultimate creative escape for young makers aged 8–16. Hosted in our light-filled, modern ceramic studio in Brookvale (Northern Beaches), these high-energy holiday workshops invite kids and teens to dive hands-first into the exciting world of pottery.
Whether your child is a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills, our intimate group sizes ensure plenty of personalized guidance. Guided by supportive, Working With Children Check (WWCC) certified teachers, students learn the foundational techniques of both hand-building—sculpting functional bowls, cups, and unique art pieces—and wheel throwing, where they get to feel the sheer magic of centralizing clay on the spinning wheel.
Parents can tailor the holiday schedule to fit their family needs by choosing a fast-paced 2-hour half-day session or combining morning and afternoon sessions into a full-day creative retreat. At ClayGround, we provide an encouraging, community-driven space where young artists across the Northern Beaches and Inner South build real creative confidence, tactile skills, and lasting holiday memories!

Kids & Teens ClayCamp FAQs
Where are the ClayGround studio locations?
We have two premier locations in Sydney, however our school holiday programs are all held in our Brookvale Studio location (Northern Beaches): 11 Mitchell Rd, Brookvale NSW 2100.
How long is this pottery class, and what is the cost?
We offer flexible choices so you can structure the school holidays to fit your schedule and budget:
- Half-Day Workshop ($69.00): A 2-hour, high-energy session covering hand-building and wheel work. Students take their raw clay pieces home on the day (just bring a sturdy box to transport them!).
- Full-Day Workshop ($138.00): Book the morning and afternoon sessions separately on the same day for a 4.5-hour deep dive (includes supervised lunch breaks).
What is the parking like at your studio?
Drop-off and pick-up are quick and stress-free at our Sydney locations:
- ClayGround Brookvale (Northern Beaches): We have dedicated private parking spots directly in front of our studio at 11 Mitchell Rd, as well as ample free street parking along Mitchell Road and neighboring side streets.
Does my child need to bring their own food and drinks?
Yes, please! Creating ceramic masterpieces builds up an appetite:
- Half-Day Campers (2 Hours): Please send your young artist with a refillable water bottle and a light snack for short studio breaks.
- Full-Day Campers (4.5 Hours): Kids staying for both the morning and afternoon sessions will need a refillable water bottle, morning/afternoon snacks, and a packed lunch. Our staff provide full supervision during the lunch break between sessions so you don't need to worry about midday pickups!
Does my child need any prior pottery experience?
Not at all! Our School Holiday ClayCamp is 100% beginner-friendly. Whether your child has never touched clay before or is an aspiring young artist looking to refine their skills, our experienced, WWCC-certified instructors guide every student step-by-step. We maintain intimate group sizes so every participant gets personalized instruction while covering both hand-building and wheel throwing at an encouraging, fun-filled pace.
What should my child wear to the school holiday camp?
Studio-Ready Clothes: Clay washes out in the laundry, but we strongly suggest wearing casual, comfy clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty.
Closed-Toe Shoes: For safety around pottery wheels and equipment, closed-toe shoes are strictly required for all campers.
Hair Ties & Accessories: We recommend bringing a hair tie to keep longer hair back, and leaving rings or bracelets at home so little hands can get straight into the clay!
