the art of Kintsugi

$120

Join Yoko Kawada at our ClayGround studio for our first Master class on the art of Kintsugi! The master class will take place on Saturday (May 1st) for 3 hours from 10am-1pm.

Kintsugi is a century-old Japanese craftwork where broken ceramic objects are pieced back together using lacquer and gold dust based on the philosophy of Wabi Sabi, finding beauty in imperfection.

The process transforms much loved, worn items into a beautifully crafted, new piece of art. It is a chance to live a more sustainable way and to rescue objects which would otherwise be discarded.

In this workshop at ClayGround, you will learn the fundamental technique of “Art Kintsugi” step by step, utilizing modern accessible materials and bring home a piece of your own Kintsugi art.

Class size is small so make sure to reserve your spot soon!
